Art and Design - BTEC Level 2 at Pool Hayes Arts and Community School

Course description

Brief Course Content

You will study 2D and 3D visual communication, explore and develop Art and Design ideas, produce an Art and design outcome, as well as the possible options of graphic design, multimedia, 3D crafts and other.

Students will study Art and Design and ICT but may opt to retake GCSE Engish and/or Maths.  All students follow the core curriculum including General Studies. 

Students choosing a Vocational Course will be encouraged to use their own initiative, plan and organise their own work, and to work as a member of a team.  All vocational students will be expected to study for at least 5-10 hours per week outside lessons. 

Progression

Students may go onto AS Art and Design or other Art related courses at college.

Entry requirements

Students should have a Grade D in Art or a Technology Subject.

Vocational courses are open to all students who can satisfy the school that they will be able to benefit from contiued study for a further period of one year.  To follow a Level 2 course, students should of gained GCSE results in the region of C-E.
