Public Services BTEC Level 2 at Varndean College

Course description

Interested in a career in the Uniformed 
Public Services? We look at a range of
organisations e.g. Police, Fire and Rescue,
Ambulance, Army, Navy and others you
may not have thought about. The course
focuses on learning a wide range of
skills important for Public Service work
including communication, teamwork,
discipline and problem solving.
Two units are assessed in an examination.
Five are coursework using a range of
reports, presentations, practical tasks and
role plays. The assessments allow you
to demonstrate that you have skills and
knowledge to achieve a Pass, Merit or
Distinction Grade.
The course combines a theory element
with active practical situations to give
you experience and an insight into the
work of the uniformed services with
visits to and speakers from different
organisations.
This course will enable you to market
yourself well to employers if you are
looking to go straight into a job or to
continue your education onto a Level 3
Public Services course.
