Activity Leadership Apprenticeship Level 2 at Worthing College

Course description

Apprentices will complete a combination fo qualifications that develop competence, knowledge and skills. Example units include:

  • Lead Activity sessions
  • Support the development of the Sport or activity
  • Conclude and review activity sessions.

Entry requirements

Applicants will normally have achieved a mix of GCSE'S and/or other qualifications such as BTEC Level 2 courses. These qualifications would normally include English, IT and Maths GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications e.g Functional Skills Level 2) Previous Sports Leadership experience and/or National Governing body coaching or officiating qualifications woul be desirable, although not essential.

Future opportunities

Apprenticeship:

Supporting teaching and learning in Physical Education and Sport.

Further Education: 

With Level 3 qualifications already attained, there are a number of sports coaching and teaching degrees you can complete at University.

Employment:

After successfully completing this apprenticeship you will be fully qualified to work as a Trainee Teaching Assistant or Community Sport Activity Leader.
