Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Vehicle Restoration Level 2 Apprenticeship at Banbury and Bicester College

Course description

If your plan is to pursue a career working within the construction industry focusing on Motor Vehicle then this could be the course for you. This intermediate level course is designed to give you a broad base of knowledge and experience to prepare you for working within the Motor Vehicle industry and for progression.

Course content

Over the two years of the programme you learn the theory of Motor Vehicle and gain the practical skills and experience necessary to progress in this industry or related areas. The elements of the course are: L2 Diploma in Motor Vehicle L2 NVQ Diploma in Motor Vehicle Functional Skills in English Level 1 and Maths Level 1 Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

You spend 1 day a week in college participating in classroom and practical-based sessions. The other 4 days are spent working in the workplace putting what you have learned into practice. All aspects of training will be carried out in college. These will be taught both in the classroom and the workshops. You will then take the skills you have learnt at college out to the workplace and will be expected to bring in work based evidence and build a portfolio with the evidence you have collected in the workplace. An assessor will visit your work place to observe your working practices. All key skills will be delivered at college within your day release.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course but on application you will be called in to sit an Initial Assessment to ensure that you are at the correct level of learning and you will then be invited in to college for an interview with a member of the Motor Vehicle team.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the course you can progress to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle. The duration of this course is 2 Years and will be a day release course.

      • Continue down A422 and leave roundabout onto A361, Southam Road. Turn left on A361 (Southam Road) on to Horse Fair.
      • Leave the roundabout onto B4035, West Bar Street. Follow West Bar Street on to Broughton Road and the main entrance to the campus is on the right hand side.

      The Banbury Campus is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the train and bus station.
