Course description

This study programme is ideal if you have just completed the Entry level qualification and wish to progress. It is an ideal stepping stone if you require some additional support with your learning.

You will gain knowledge and experience of working in the Hospitality department’s busy production kitchen and training restaurant. This will help you to develop valuable employability skills and increase your knowledge of the area. You will be expected to achieve assessments in both practical and theory elements of the course and also have the chance to visit food-related exhibitions.

Entry requirements

To start his course you will need a genuine interest in catering. Some evidence of studying at GCSE level would also be an advantage.

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you can progress on to the Professional Cookery Level 1 Diploma. Alternatively, you can go into employment in a variety of catering establishments, such as hotels, public houses and fast food outlets.
