IT (Cambridge Technicals) at Benfield School

Course description

The Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Information Technology (IT) offers four specialist pathways to students - IT Infrastructure Technician, Emerging Digital Technology Practitioner, Application Developer and Data Analyst.

Designed in collaboration with experts spanning the breadth of the IT sector, the Cambridge Technicals in IT focuses on the skills, knowledge and understanding that today's Universities and employers demand.

Course content

The course consists of 5 units of work that will ensure all students develop the knowledge and understanding of the principles of IT and global information systems.  You will also gain an insight into the IT sector as you investigate the pace of technological change and the flow of information on a global scale.

 

Assessment

The course itself is made up of 5 units, two of which are externally assessed (Fundamentals of IT and Global Information) and three internally assessed units.  Dependent on the pathway taken by each individual student, units are selected from a bank of interesting and relevant topics.

Further information

This course requires you to develop and apply their practical skills and knowledge in preparation for further study, Higher Education or the workplace.
