Information and Communication Technology BTEC Level 3 at Sutton Community Academy
ICT is a major part of any developing or developed business or country. Most sectors of society incorporate ICT into their working practices including all schools to hospitals. The implementation, up-keep, training and progress have to come from somewhere…this is where ICT specialist come into their own.
You will learn how to utilise ICT systems in the workplace, from defining the information needs of users to developing solutions for business requirements. The course will supply you with the fundamental skills to support users of ICT systems as well as handling data and understanding developments in technology.
Using new packages and creating websites with flair and diversity will become second nature to you!
Due to the large leap in content we require OCR Cambridge National at P2 or above and a grade B is desirable in English Language.
ICT is needed in most fields and this course will give you a varied knowledge of many applications needed in the world of work. There are many university places relating to ICT and these include courses such as Computer Games Technology, Forensic Computing, European Computing and Computing Software Design.
The practical skills that will be learnt could take a student into positions such as technical
consultant, systems administrator, operations support or ICT manager to name just a few. As a certain level of computer use is expected in modern society, your advanced skills would be highly desirable in many other areas of employment.
There is a large connection with business in some of the units. Due to the content needed in some units English would be an advantage.
Due to this being an B-Tec there is no exam to be taken. There is an opportunity to build a PC within the course – saving you money on buying your own!
