BTEC Art and Design Technology at John Colet School

Course description

Units will be split between the Art Department and the Technology Department. Units are moderated internally with external verification.

Course content

The course will include the assessment of:
Unit 1 – Visual Recording in Art and Design
Unit 2 – Materials, Techniques and Processes in Art and Design.
Unit 3 – Ideas and Concepts in Art and Design.
Unit 4 - Communication through Art and Design.
Unit 42 – Design for Advertising.
Unit 80 – Painting in Fine Art.
Unit 97 – Product Design
Unit 100 – Extending Resistant Materials.
Unit 103 – Exploring Specialist Glass Techniques.

Entry requirements

To take BTEC level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Art and Design, students are required to have a C grade or above in Art, Photography, Product Design, Graphics or Textiles at GCSE.
