- Decision making to improve operational performance

- Decision making to improve financial performance

Year 13

- Analysing the strategic position of a business

- Choosing strategic direction

- Strategic methods: how to pursue strategies

- Managing strategic change

Entry requirements

Students need to manage their time effectively and need to take on a degree of responsibility for their learning. Extra reading and research are a must.

Assessment

In Year 12 you will sit 2 external exams:

Paper 1 – Business 1: 1 hour 30 minutes written exam (50% of AS)

Paper 2– Business 2: 1 hour 30 minutes written exam (50% of AS)

In Year 13 you will sit 3 external exams:

Paper 1 – Business 3: 2 hours written exam (33.3% of A-level)

Paper 2 – Business 4: 2 hours written exam (33.3% of A-level)

Paper 3 – Business 5: 2 hours written exam (33.3% of A-level)

Future opportunities

Business Studies is an ideal prelude to any Business Degree. It also allows students to gain an understanding of the business skills that are transferable to the outside world.
