Art at All Saints School

Course description

Students will have the great opportunity to follow a very broad study of Art and Design that encourages practice alongside intellectual challenge. The exciting programme offered to students explores a wide range of materials and processes. This covers an ideas based approach alongside the learning of practical skills. Self expression is encouraged to develop very personal areas of study.

The course is a two year programme of study. The first year is aimed at learning how to explore and develop ideas whilst exploring the work of a variety of artists and differing approaches to the subject. At A2 the second year, students are encouraged to develop a more personal response. Each year is assessed on two units of work. The second unit of each year is an externally set controlled test.

The course successfully prepares students for direct entry onto a degree or foundation course.
