Psychology A Level at Kingsdale Foundation School

Course description

Psychology is a popular choice among students nationally, it is the science of the mind (Yes it is a Science and this debate will continue throughout the course!). Most importantly Psychologists study behaviour and you will find that throughout the course it is your own behaviour which may be studied. You will be asked to take part in a number of mini experiments. Please be enthusiastic and say yes to all of these opportunities. By taking part you will be improving your own psychological understanding!

Paper 1 - Introductory Topics in Psychology

Paper 2 - Psychology in Context

Paper 3  Issues & Options in Psychology

Three Option Topics (all studied in year 2): e.g. Relationships Eating Behaviour Forensic Psychology Actual topics to be confirmed! Issues and debates

Assessment

Compulsory content - all course content above

Written exam 2 hrs - 96 marks - 33.3% of A level
