Art and Design Level 3 at West Hatch High School
Art and Design crosses all subject boundaries, challenges preconceptions and encourages personal enquiry. You are challenged to think, question, experiment and innovate. There are opportunities to develop new skills and techniques using a variety of materials. You will be encouraged to explore a diverse range of other artists work to
help develop your own ideas and interests creatively. There are opportunities to develop new skills in painting and drawing and to gain a greater understanding of the more complex ideas involved through your research. The subject is primarily about the person making art that reflects his/her ideas and interests. You need to be self-motivated
because after a structured start you will be required to undertake independent study outside the classroom.
General entry requirements and a grade B: GCSE Art and Design. If not taken this subject cannot be studied.
