Logistics at The Parker E-act Academy

Course content

The course provides an introduction to the concept of logistics and integrated supply chain management and establish the context in which the component sectors operate.Core Unit - compulsory - Introduction to Logistics/Introduction to Movement of Goods and People.Effective Units - choose 2 - Production Planning and Inventory Management (not currently offered)/Procurement (not currently offered)/Warehousing/Transport Planning and Service Provisions.Unit certification is available.Completion of the 2 core units leads to a supply chain awareness award.

Assessment

The Introductory Certificate is competence-based and will be assessed by a portfolio of work produced as supporting evidence of all four units studied.  There is also a holistic case study examination, at the end of the course that will assess candidates` understanding of how decisions made in each of the separate areas covered by the syllabus impact on the integrated supply chain.Candidates must succesfully complete the 2 core units, 2 optional units and the case study to be awarded the CILT (UK) Level 2 Introductory Certificate in Logistics and Transport.  This takes place over a 2 year period.
