Course description

This course is aimed at people who want to gain knowledge of the
plumbing industry. The course involves the following: Environmental
and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings, installation,
repair and maintenance of plumbing systems. Site preparation for
working in the construction industry.
• Above ground drainage
• Palstic pressure pipewrok
• Fundamental safe working practices
• Plumbing science
• Low carbon steel pipework
• Copper pipework
Full Time Study Programmes are built around a collection of key
elements which all students benefit from, these include:
• Main Qualification in the subject of your choice
• English & mathematics qualifications for all students who have not
yet achieved A*- C grade in either subject
• Work Experience or External Work Placement which is planned
with you at the start of your course and links to your career goals
and ambitions
• Weekly Tutorial with your personal tutor
• A wide range of Enrichment Activities to support your broader
skills, such as team work or communication

Entry requirements

2 GCSE grade E-F including English and maths.

Assessment

Assessment will be carried out by production of practical and theory
knowledge portfolio

Training to become a qualified plumber through an Apprenticeship.
