'There are 3 pathways for this programme, depending on qualifications and the skills of the student: City and Guilds VRQ Level 2 Hairdressing (Certificate) City and Guilds VRQ Level 2 Hairdressing (Diploma) City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing This programme will prepare you with the skills and knowledge in the following hairdressing services:Customer careConsultation skillsShampooing and conditioning hairCutting hairBlow drying / styling hairLong hair workColouring / highlighting techniquesPermingHealth and safetyThe programme provides the basic skills, understanding and knowledge to embark on a career in the hairdressing industry. There are several course opportunities during this programme. You have the chance to complete work experience in our academy salons, and also have the opportunity to enter a range of regional and national competitions, such as Wella and Francesco competitions. During your time on this programme, you will also take part in external visits, such as The Wella Studios in Manchester to observe celebrity hairdressers and take part in bespoke one day demonstrations on the latest trends and fashions in the industry. We will also visit Winter Gardens in Blackpool for the annual AHT competitions and possibly a chance to visit the Francesco Hair Group salons in Stafford.

Entry requirements

'Learners must have;City and Guilds VRQ Level 1 Hairdressing or 4 GCSE’s grade D or above (one of which must include English)Successful interview with a Hairdressing tutorA genuine interest in the subjectGood communication skillsA hardworking approach towards the industry
