Module 1 Title
People, Politics and participation

Participation and voting behaviour, electoral systems, political parties, pressure groups and protest movements.
11/2 hour examination, 50% of As level, 25% of A level

Module 2 Title
Governing Modern Britain

The British constitution, the role and function of parliament, The Core Executive; the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, multi-level governance; Devolution and the role of the European Union.

Module 3 Title
Politics of the USA

Election and direct democracy, voting behaviour in the USA, political parties of the USA, and Pressure groups of the USA.
11/2 hour examination, 25% of A level

Module 4 Title
Government of the USA

The Constitution of the USA, The Supreme Court and the protection of rights and liberties, The Executive (Presidency) and Congress.
11/2 hour examination, 25% of A level

Entry requirements

Ideally GCSE Grade B and above in History or Geography. Others will be assessed individually on merit.
