Study Skills: ESOL at City College Peterborough

Course description

This programme is designed to increase the student’s confidence and ability in their Functional English skills to prepare them for further studies or the workplace. Students will develop their speaking and listening skills together with their study skills through focused reading and writing activities.

The programme covers:

• Speaking and listening skills
• Reading and writing
• Local community and current affairs
• Personal, social development.

Students will work towards English and Maths qualifications.

    • City College Peterborough’s main campus can be found on Brook Street, in the heart of Peterborough. Whilst still under the name, Peterborough College of Adult Education, the College moved into its Brook Street home in 1966. Since then, the campus has grown and grown – including more services, courses and facilities for young people, adults and businesses in Peterborough.

      The Brook Street Campus beautifully combines old and new, with the College’s extension working perfectly with the original building. You won’t be able tomiss the College on Brook Street – just look out for our distinctive blue, white and green sign.

      At the Brook Street campus you will find a huge host of learning environments for young people, adult learners, families and businesses. Members of our management team can also be found at the Brook Street campus and they are always more than happy to help students with any queries they may have with regard to their studies or the College.
