Geography A Level at Sirius Academy West

Course description

What will I learn?

The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of the interrelationships between people and their environments, and of the opportunities, challenges and
constraints that people face in different places and environments.

In addition, students will be encouraged to investigate how decisions are made about the use and management of resources and environments, and to understand the significance and effects of peoples’ values and attitudes in geographical issues. Students will take part in a fieldwork project which will help
them with their investigation.

  • Unit 1 - Physical and Human Geography
  • Unit 2 - Geographical Skills
  • Unit 3 - Contemporary Geographical Issues
  • Unit 4A - Geography Fieldwork Investigation
  • Unit 4B - Geographical Issue Evaluation

Entry requirements

You will need a minimum of a Grade B in GCSE Geography and at least five GCSEs at Grade A*-C, including Maths and English.
