Computer Science A-Level at The Ockendon Academy & Studio School
Students become effective designers and implementers of computing solutions.
This qualification will enable students to understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science including: abstraction, decomposition, logic, algorithms and data representation. It will increase the student’s ability to analyse problems in computational terms through practical experience of solving problems. This qualification will improve student’s capacity for thinking creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically. It will use their mathematical skills to solve problems and build upon prior computer science knowledge to gain a more in-depth understanding of how computers work.
GCSE Computer Science grade B or above.
GCSE Maths grade 4 or above.
This is an exam based course and assessment will be two written exams at the end of Year 13.
