Course description

learn how to carry out routine maintenance and inspections including servicing, repairing and replacing faulty parts and maintaining records as your first steps to a career as a Motorcycle Service Technician. You will study units such as:removing and replacing engine units and componentsremoving and replacing auxiliary electrical units and componentsremoving and replacing chassis units and componentshow to conduct pre and post-work vehicle inspectionsYou may also need to study Functional Skills Maths, English and ICT Level 1, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) units to success fully complete your training.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but your previous skills and experience will be considered upon application.


Some attendance at the college may be required and an Assessor will also visit you in the workplace to carry out practical assessments and monitor your progress.

Future opportunities

After successfully completing your Level 2 course you will be able to apply for the Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship Level 3.
