Course description

In this course you can expect to study the media industry through analysing media representations and pitching and producing media products. This will include a study of general media representations across media platforms, film production and the production of a pre-production portfolio as well as responding to a
Media Commission.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade 4 in English Language.


Unit 1 – Media Representations, 90 Guided Learning Hours – External Assessment, 2 hours, 80 Marks

Unit 2 – Pre-production Portfolio, 90 Guided Learning Hours – Internal Assessment

Unit 8 – Responding to a Commission, 120 Guided Learning Hours – External Assessment, Written Assessment completed over a 2 Week period in supervised conditions, 75 Marks

Unit 10 – Film Production – Fiction, 60 Guided Learning Hours – Internal Assessment
