Construction BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Redcar & Cleveland College

Course description

Equivalent to three A levels, this course gives you an established university entry qualification and will also provide the pathway into a range of exciting careers including: architecture; quantity surveying; building surveying; construction management; renewables sector; environmental management; building control; interior design. You will study Environmental Science; Project Management; Surveying and Levelling; Design Procedures; Maths; ICT & CAD; and much more.

Entry requirements

It is recommended that you have achieved appropriate level 2 courses such as GCSE’s with grade C’s in Maths and English or a trade background construction equivalent. If you are a mature student with a trade background we will provide you with all the advice you need.


The teaching and learning methods include case studies, presentations, projects, lectures and seminars. A range of electronic resources can be accessed via the virtual learning environment. Study skills are also integrated into the programme.

Future opportunities

This course will provide the first steps to higher education and a professional career in construction. Many of our students have gone on to study at University and have successful careers in Architecture, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying and Civil Engineering.
