Information Technology Btec at Writhlington School

Course description

Learners will develop a common core of IT knowledge and study areas such as the relationship between hardware and software that form an IT system, managing and processing data to support business and using IT to communicate and share information.

Course content

Year 12 - Information technology systems (synoptic). Choice of optional units including data modelling or website development.

Year 13 - Creating systems to manage information. Using social media in business.

 

Entry requirements

Five GCSE Grade 4 to 9.

Assessment

You will sit one written examination in Year 12. You will also undertake an externally assessed controlled assessment and assignments for internal assessment.

Future opportunities

Computing/IT or related fields at university or the world of work.
