Physical Education A Level at Clacton County High School
This course will provide students with a challenge that engages them in all aspects of sport and physical activity. The course will consider physiological, psychological and historical aspects and combine these with practical performances, not only as a performer but also as a coach and official.
If you enjoy sport then these are the courses for you. You will be taught by enthusiastic teaching staff that have a real passion for the subject and sport itself. The course will enable you to develop your theoretical knowledge of sport and physical activity and will look to combine these in practical performances.
The PE Department has a history of great success in all of its courses, with many progressing into PE teachers, Health and Fitness Specialists and Medical professions.
Essential: A minimum of six GCSEs (grades A*-C) is required, including Maths and English. Students will normally require a minimum of a GCSE (grade B) in Physical Education.
Desirable: Students should be aiming for an A grade in PE GCSE for A Level PE. Regular attendance at extra-curricuar/outside clubs is also a necessity in order to access practical grades.
