The Apprenticeship in Team Leading is a high quality training programme designed to help people become as efficient and effective as possible in their careers and gain a nationally recognised certificate relating to their work. The course involves workplace learning and you must be employed. Functional skills may apply to strengthen English, Maths and ICT skills.

Entry requirements

Candidates must be 16 years of age or over on entry. No formal entry requirements. To enter this programme you will need to show enthusiasm, commitment and interest in the subject area. You will need to be employed in the industry.

Assessment

Assessment of competence requiring a combination of performance evidence and knowledge evidence gathered over time using a variety of methods.

Future opportunities

A Level 3 Apprenticeship in Management, or full time employment in a management role.

Further information

On this course you will learn a broad range of team leading skills and procedures. The main qualification is the Diploma in Team Leading Level 2, which involves building a portfolio of evidence from work based activities, assignments and external exams. Functional Skills are delivered online through BKSB resources and assessed by external exams. The Diploma in Team Leading involves many different areas and the units you will cover will depend upon your job description. Examples of units covered are:Manage Personal Performance and DevelopmentLead and Manage a TeamManage Team PerformanceDevelop Working Relationships with ColleaguesHealth and Safety Procedures in the WorkplaceTo apply for this course you must complete an application form. You will be invited to attend the initial assessment and an informal interview.
