Course description

The Certificate in Financial Studies (CeFS) is a qualification that aims to address the poor levels of financial awareness in the UK.

It is designed to equip future generations with the knowledge to make confident choices about their financial futures.


Course content

Year 12: Unit 1 and  2 –  Financial Capability in the Immediate and Short Term and Financial Capability in the Medium and Long Term

Year 13: Unit  4 and 5 –  Sustainability of an Individuals Finances and Sustainability of the Financial Services System.



Entry requirements

GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above.



Year 12: four exam units. Two multiple choice, two pre- released case studies

Future opportunities

Certificate in Financial Studies  will improve your understanding of financial matters such as bank account, savings and investment, borrowing, pensions and insurance. It  is a recognised entry-level qualification for a career in financial services.
