We base our courses on employment needs of the region. Therefore, you can expect to learn topics that are relevant to the industry. Your course will be made up of a mixture of core modules, that are essential to the course requirements, and units that you can choose to specialize in yourself. You'll be guided by your tutor on which units to choose that will best suit you. Key units on this course include:-Repair Techniques on all Vehicle Systems-Fault Diagnosis and Repair using Electrical and Electronic Diagnostic Equipment-Air Conditioning and Climatic Control Systems Operation and Repair-Routine Safety Checks-Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT)
If you want to progress your knowledge from Level 2 into more advanced, specialised areas such as Fault Diagnosis or Climatic Control Systems then this is the perfect course for you. It will give you all the skills and knowledge you need to progress into employment. The course is both practical and theory based and is held at our Lockoford Lane campus which has purpose built garages in which to gain hands on experience. You will need at least four GCSEs at grade C or above or the Level 2 qualification. If you're not progressing from Level 2 you'll need an assessment to identify what level of study you are currently working at for English and Maths as well as recognising simple engineering applications and principles. You will need a pair of overalls and safety shoes (steel toe cap).
Yes - If it's your first full Level 3 and you're aged 19-23 your course is funded otherwise Advanced learner loans are available
Upon successful completion of the course you will have a highly regarded motor vehicle qualification giving you the in depth skills and knowledge you need to gain employment in the industry. Apprenticeships are still an option at this stage as well.
