Further Mathematics AS/A2 Level at The Bishops' Blue Coat CofE High School

Course description

This course supports study in other subjects especially sciences, and the statistical work. Further Maths is advantageous in gaining a place to study Mathematics at university.

Course content

The course consists of six modules, three forming the Year 12 AS course and three forming the Year 13 A2 course. All will be assessed in June of each year.

All appers are 1½ hours duration. AS Modules: FP1 D1 A2 Modules: FP2 D2 All students will study S1 with their Maths group.

Entry requirements

The course is only available for students covering the AS+A2 Mathematics option as well as at least a grade A in GCSE Mathematics.

Future opportunities

Employers look for people with the ability to think logically and solve problems. These skills are fully developed in the above courses. The study of Mathematics is essential for those wanting to work in engineering, scientific research, accounting or other financial areas.
