English Literature at Reepham High School and College

Course description

An enquiring mind, an ability to form opinions and a love of prose, poetry and drama are essential requirements but you will be guided and encouraged on your journey into the close analysis and critical appreciation of a wide range of texts, both modern and classic. We augment the course with lectures and trips to the theatre, and offer a ‘lending library’ of texts and DVDs.

Our students enjoy excellent results and find the skills they develop in the study of A-level English Literature complement subjects as diverse as Philosophy, History and Modern Foreign Languages. This subject has long been regarded as one of the most academic subjects and as such is highly valued by all universities. As such, it is an excellent keystone for your UCAS application.

Entry requirements

You will need at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English or Mathematics and have to meet the minimum entry requirements for each subject. Grade ‘B’ in English Literature
