Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is equivalent to 3 A levels. This qualification is based entirely on coursework assessment and you will have the opportunity to participate in UK and overseas educational visits which are linked to your coursework. The course is designed to provide students with a broad range of knowledge from the Travel & Tourism Industry.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade A*-C including English Language or BTEC Level 2 Diploma (Merit or Distinction) together with a Grade C in English Language.


This course is assessed through a range of activities such as projects, presentations, teamwork and practical activities. Assessment is continuous and suited to candidates who prefer this method of assessment to final exams.

Future opportunities

Students who successfully complete this programme will be able to apply for our Foundation Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management . Alternatively, students can achieve direct employment opportunities in careers such as Travel Agents, Airlines, Rail, Coach Companies, Hotels, Airports, Tour Operators or related areas such as Marketing or Human Resources.
