Fashion Retail - Level 2 Diploma at Middlesbrough College

Course description

The Diploma in Fashion Retail will introduce the basic principles, skills, techniques and attributes required to be employed within the Fashion Retail Industry.

Course content

Customer Service Fashion Design and Communication Buying and Merchandising Introduction to Visual Merchandising Fashion History and Culture Personal Shopping and Style In addition English and Maths will be developed and assessed.

Entry requirements

To secure a place on this course you will need to possess a Level 1 qualification or four or more GCSE’s at Grade E or above including at least two at Grade C or above including English or an equivalent qualification. You will need to have a successful interview and provide a satisfactory reference or school report showing good attendance. Applicants for this course should be able to demonstrate an aptitude and enthusiasm for fashion retail "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Assessment

Subject knowledge will be assessed by a variety of methods some of which include written assignments PowerPoint presentations discussion, sketchbook development mood boards presentations and oral questioning which will be collated into a portfolio of evidence

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Retail / Retail Fashion or directly into employment. The College also provides training in Enterprise Skills to allow progression to self-employed status.
