Painting and Decorating - CSkills Awards Level 1 Diploma in Painting and Decorating at Calderdale College
This qualification is aimed at those individuals wishing to join the construction industry as Painters and Decorators. Delivered at Calderdale College & North Halifax Skills Centre.
This is a practical and theory based course which consists of you working through a number of work based units.
- Some of these units are:
- Health, safety and welfare in construction.
- Erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms
- Prepare surfaces for decoration.
- Apply paint systems by brush and roller to non-complex areas.
There are 7 units to complete which includes an external test and practical assessments at the end of each unit. At the end of this qualification you will have a good degree of painting and decorating knowledge.
Interview with a specialist tutor. Candidates are required to show enthusiasm and commitment to the course.
Theory - Job knowledge test for each unit
Practical - continual assessment of practical work throughout the year.
In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived. Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.
All successful students will get the opportunity to progress
onto Painting and Decorating Occupations at Diploma
Level 2 or an NVQ Level 2 through the work based evidence route.
Employment Opportunities could include an Apprenticeship
in your chosen trade area.
