Games and Animation (L3) Extended Diploma at Stanmore College

Course description

This course is intended for anyone with an interest in the Interactive Media Industry, particularly the App/Games, Animation or Visual Effects for Films.

The work is a combination of practical and some theoretical analysis, involving a range of media products and industries, as well as the planning and production of 2D/3D games and animations.

Students are required to complete 18 units (9 in each year), to gain their BTEC Extended Diploma qualification. Core units introduce media concepts, practices and production techniques.

Year 1: App Design > Concept Art > 3D Object Sculpting > 2D/3D Animation

Year 2: Business Models > 3D Level Design > Digital Graphics & Interfaces

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade C or above, including GCSE English language, or, full level 2 diploma and GCSE language grade C or above, or level 2 literacy functional skills. 

Passion for the course area is a must and a portfolio is desirable but not essential.

EXAMINATION BOARD: UAL Awarding Body.

100% Coursework internally assessed and externally moderated.
