Children's Play, Learning and Development EDEXCEL BTEC National Award Level 3 at Cornwall College
This course is for motivated, enthusiastic people interested in a career working with children who do not currently have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C. Successful completion of this course and GCSE Maths and English could allow you to progress onto the National Certificate where you will gain Early Years Educator Status. It is also a 'gateway' qualification for many other careers within the Children's Workforce such as Portage Worker, Family Support Worker, SENCO or Children's Holiday Representative. Those who wish to continue into Higher Education will gain UCAS points for the EYE which will enable them to progress into careers such as Early Years or Primary Teacher, Social Worker, Speech & Language Therapist or Play Therapist among others.
Learners will enjoy a variety of teaching approaches and study Core units which include: Child Development, Play and Learning, Health and Safety in Early Years Settings, Safeguarding in Early Years and Observation, Assessment and Planning.
And a choice of one optional unit such as: Meeting Children's Physical Development, Physical Care and Health Needs, Supporting Children's Speech, Communication and Language, Supporting Children's Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Supporting Children's Literacy and Numeracy Development.
