Economics A Level at Berwick Academy

Course description

Economics is currently the fastest growing A Level subject in the country. It is designed to develop your critical thinking and anlytical skills. An understanding of how the UK and international economies work and how they are linked is vitally important for individuals. 

You will look at key areas such as income, wealth, how countries measure economic performance and run their economies along with the theory and practice of internationla trade, globalisation, poverty, inequality and developing countries. 

Economics also links well with other subjects commonly studied at A Level such as Business Studies, Geography, History, Politics and Mathematics.

Entry requirements

GCSE Maths at Grade B, English at Grade C

Future opportunities

Economics is a very popular degree course, but the skills developed will prepare you well for further study in a wide range of subjects. Economics is a highly sought after A Level subject, with Universities recognising the level of challenge in the subject and skills/understanding developed by studying Economics.
