Course description

Mathematics GCSE offers a Linear route with no coursework. Achieving the essential grade C / 4 or better in Mathematics GCSE will give you many opportunities in the future.

Course content

This course will be examined under the 9-1 GCSE specification. GCSE Mathematics involves topics such as number; algebra; ratio, proportion and rates of change; geometry and measures; probability and statistics.

Two tiers of exam entry are available: Foundation and Higher.

GCSE Mathematics is assessed by three exam papers each worth a third of the final mark.

 

 

Entry requirements

The normal offer for entry on to the GCSE course is four GCSEs at grade 3 or above. To resit GCSE Mathematics you must have a minimum of a grade 3. This course can only be studied as part of the Full Time GCSE course or alongside a vocational course.

Future opportunities

If a student achieves a grade 6 they will be able to progress on to A Level Mathematics.

    • The site at Kingston Hall Road is the College's main site and houses the Student Registry and Welfare departments as well as Deli KC and the ACT Theatre.  The Arena Sports facility and Arena Hair and Beauty are both attached to this building, which also houses the central administration facility for the College.
