Foundation Learning for new to UK at The Co-operative Academy of Leeds
Foundation Learning is a personalised programme of study for international new arrivals and for those who are at the risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) who are operating at Level 1 or below.
Foundation Learning frame work includes Function skills, English, Maths ICT, andvocational/subject-specific elements and PSD (personal and social development). All these elements will be stand alone qualifications but when combined will contribute towards achieving the foundation learning.
Maths, English, ICT, Personal and Social Development and a vocational qualification such as Art, ICT, Sports, Business and Child Care.
The Foundation Learning Programme runs from entry level 1 to level 1.
A variety of subjects.
No entry requirements.
Depending on the subjects chosen.
Students who successfully complete the foundation learning course can progress on to level 2, apprenticeship or employment.
