Course description

Drama and Theatre Studies A’ Level is designed for students who enjoy reading plays and watching or participating in drama - as performers, directors or designers - and who want to develop their skills in one or more of these areas. One of the attractions of the AQA Drama and Theatre Studies course is the group work that you will find is at the heart of the practical element of the course. The course develops written, practical, creative and communication skills. You will extend your ability to create drama, either in a performing or production role, or both. You will also be required to write about theatre and to develop your powers of analysis to become an informed critic. The course will involve taking part in drama productions, as well as studying plays, playwrights and theatre practitioners.

Entry requirements

Sixth Form entrant (internal and external) to have achieved at least 5 subjects at GCSE grade B or better with a B in the subject you wish to study
