Music (Technology) BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at The Mandeville School
The Music Technology course is geared towards those with a keen interest in the technological and recording side of music rather than performance. You will tailor your course to your own needs and interests. It looks at how technology can be used as a way of making music and provides the opportunity to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding. This course is appropriate for anyone interested in practical music making and those suited to a coursework based course.
Students taking this course will learn how to:
- Set up the equipment required for a recording session
- Capture audio sources using multi-track recording techniques and mix these multi-track recordings
- Realise musical ideas using MIDI sequencing skills and audio sequencing skills
- Know the texture of vocal and instrumental resources and their acoustic environment in recordings or performances
Students will also learn about many other aspects of music technology some of which depend on the route they decide to take.
5 GCSE’s A*-C and a genuine interest in music.
