BTEC Level 3 Textiles at King James I Academy
Classes involved modelling techniques and then independent development of ideas. The lessons are heavily practical and allow time for students to evaluate their work. There are also visits to locations which helps to inspire students and develop their themed ideas such as "Under the Sea". Guest speakers from the industry are used to give students first hand information from the industry.

Unit 1 Fabric Manipulation
Unit 2 Printed Textiles
A grade C in Design and Technology at GCSE would be desirable.
