A Level Sociology at Shrewsbury College

Course description

The A level Sociology will be delivered over two years. In the first year the course will look at Culture and Identity with a focus on Families and Households. We will then look at Health with Research Methods. In the second year we will study Beliefs in Society with a focus on Mass Media. We will then look at Stratification and Differentiation with Theory and Methods. All the above topics will be taught through engagement with classical and contemporary sociological thought.

Assessment

Assessment for the course is through external exams. You will be supported for this and we will also have a series of mock exams designed to develop your sociological knowledge and writing style.
