Apprenticeship - IT User (Level 2) at Information Horizons

Course description

Apprenticeships are your chance to study for practical skills and qualifications that employers really value. On this IT User Apprenticeship course, you'll earn while you learn. The course covers the use of IT in the workplace, providing skills which can be applied to many job functions and roles. Recent research shows that more than 90% of new jobs in the UK require the use of Information and Communication Technology, yet more than half of UK employers feel that their staff don't have sufficiently developed IT skills – so the IT qualifications you'll gain are really valuable in the job market. You'll get in-depth, hands-on training in today's most widely used business software packages, including Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. You’ll work towards an ITQ (Information Technology Qualification) Diploma at level 2, the equivalent of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C. You'll also learn other Key Skills that are essential for career progression in any role across a variety of industries. Key Skills may include Communication and Application of Number, depending on your prior GSCE achievements.

Entry requirements

You'll attend a presentation on the Apprenticeship, and do some assessments, to see if the programme is right for your needs.

Future opportunities

You'll be equipped with the IT skills you need to get a job in a variety of industries. If you're successful in your job search, which we'll help you with during the course, you could be in full-time paid employment earning a good salary within a few months of starting your Apprenticeship.You can progress to a level 3 qualification such as our Advanced IT Apprenticeship.
