Carpentry and Joinery Construction Diploma - Level 3 at Vision West Nottinghamshire College
During this course you will undertake a broad range of complex activities to develop job-related skills and knowledge. Study installing first and second fixing components, erecting complex structural carcass components, and use transportable machinery.
- Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery OR
- A relevant Level 2 NVQ.
You will need to attend an interview with the tutor before being accepted on to the course. You may also need to supply at least one written reference from a teacher or employer (in some cases two) and/or your current school or college report.
Mature students (those aged 21 or over) who do not have the qualifications required for entry may still be eligible, subject to an interview. Relevant experience, a strong portfolio of work and a commitment to the subject you wish to study may be acceptable for certain courses.

- External core knowledge test.
You will study a range of units that could include the following depending on your choice of pathway (carpentry or joinery):
- Safe working practices
- Installing first and second fixing components
- Using transportable machinery
- Building methods and construction technology
- Erecting complex structural carcassing components (floors and roofs).
Upon successful completion you could gain employment in the construction industry.
