Apprenticeship in Brickwork at Newcastle-under-Lyme College

Course description

You will work towards the Level 2 Diploma in Trowel Occupations and Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English. You will also achieve an Award in Employer Rights and Responsibilities and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills alongside your Technical Certificate.

Entry requirements

To enter the programme you will need a minimum of 2 GCSEs at C grade or above (preferably in Maths and English). Following our recruitment procedure, if you are given a conditional offer for an apprenticeship, we will then work with you to find a suitable placement with a local employer

Assessment

Your progress is monitored and assessments arranged as the course progresses. They will take place whilst you are at work. You will be assessed throughout the duration of your apprenticeship by your Assessor who will look at your work, observe your performance and test your knowledge and constantly provide additional support and feedback which will enable your achievement.

Financial information

While you are on an apprenticeship your employer pays you a salary and supports you whilst you undertake your training.

Future opportunities

If you successfully achieve your first apprenticeship we will then discuss with you and your employer the possibility of your enrolment on a higher level of apprenticeship. This will depend upon not only your ability but the opportunity for your role with your employer to develop to a higher level.

On the apprenticeship programme you usually attend college one day a week and spend 30 hours minimum a week working with your employer.
