Business Studies at Reepham High School and College
Think what you would like to be doing in five years time. Would you like to launch your very own product or service? Would you like to be designing adverts, packaging, PR and marketing campaigns? Would you like to be managing who should be hired and how to then get the best out of them?
Perhaps you would like to start your own business: deciding what to sell, who to, at what price and, most importantly, how much to pay yourself. If any of these prospects appeal to you, or if you want to develop skills and knowledge that will make you desirable to universities and employers alike, then the A Level Business Studies course is for you.
The course is split into four modules; two modules in each year. In the AS year, you will start by looking at how businesses start up: from a person having an idea, planning and finally launching their first product. You will then start to look at how businesses plan and manage their marketing, operations, finance and its people.
During the A2 year, you will develop a deeper understanding of business issues, including interpreting financial and marketing data and designing long-term strategies that aim to improve business performance. Finally, you will investigate real life businesses and how they have reacted to both internal and external change.
Business Studies complements a range of A Levels; most subjects will have an element of business and management within them, or will have content with a business context.
You will need at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above including English or Mathematics and have to meet the minimum entry requirements for each subject. Grade ‘C’ in Mathematics and English
