History AS/A2 at Tewkesbury School

Course description

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Our History AS and A Level will both challenge and inspire you. In these courses you will have the opportunity to study a range of historical periods and countries. You’ll explore the glamour of the Jazz Age and violent underbelly of 1920s America whilst also investigating key political and social developments in twentieth century Britain. Finally, you will study the fascinating witch craze during the 17th and 18th centuries in Britain and elsewhere.

History provides you with essential key skills for whatever you choose to do in the future. Analysis of evidence, independent study skills, written and verbal communication skills are all developed on the course as well as promoting a passion for the past and perfectly preparing students for further education as well as the workplace.

Entry requirements

B in GCSE History; B in GCSE English.
