Extended Project at Glenthorne High School

Course description

This course is aimed at developing students' skills in research, time management, critical thinking and presentation. Students will produce an independent research project designed to widen perspectives, broaden skills and deepen understanding. Students choose to complete one of the following units, Dissertation, Investigation/Field Study, Performance or Artefact. Over two terms students will choose an area of study, plan and carry out their research, synthesise all their research into an appropriate project, and evaluate their work in the form of a Q+A presentation. Students will work to a very high standard and the course is good preparation for study at university. There is no examination, and the qualification is worth up to 70 UCAS points.
