Course description

To study the Extended Diploma, you must have successfully completed the 90 Credit Diploma.

Develop the skills and qualities you need for work or Higher Education and explore the opportunities offered in the travel industry.

  • the business of travel and tourism
  • the UK as a destination
  • customer service
  • marketing
  • preparing for employment
  • long haul travel destinations
  • airfares and ticketing
  • specialist tourism
  • working as an overseas holiday rep
  • and the cruise industry.

Entry requirements

To study the Extended Diploma, you must have successfully completed the 90 Credit Diploma.

Assessment

A variety of assessment methods including assignments, presentations, case studies, role play, research projects and course work.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of the full Extended Diploma, you could progress to Higher Education at Guildford College or a University of your choice.

Alternatively, you may choose to start your career in the industry by working in a travel agency, tour operator, airlines, airports, tourist information or other related organisation.

Further information

The course includes a number of trips and visits together with industry guest speakers to make learning fun and relevant.

The Level 3 BTEC in Travel and Tourism will encourage you to develop the skills and qualities you need for work and explore the opportunities offered in the industry. 

Alternatively, the successful completion of this course will enable you to progress to University as it attracts UCAS points.
