Computing and IT Level 1 Diploma at Redbridge College

Course description

Would you like to broaden your job prospects? Maybe you would like to increase productivity in your current role by boosting your Computing & IT skills? This work-related course will see you widen your Computing & IT knowledge and develop a range of skills, techniques and attributes essential for successful performance in working life or future study.

Course content

You will study 17 units (subject to change) and they include:

  • Developing Multimedia Products and Software
  • Creating Business Documents
  • IT Software Fundamentals
  • Design and Imaging Software
  • Desktop Publishing Software
  • Exploring Digital Photography
  • Website Software

  English & maths:

  • 16-18: You will also study English and maths to support your main course until you achieve L2
  • 19+: You may study either English or maths if appropriate

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved two GCSEs at Grade E. With English and maths being at Entry 2 to Entry 3. You will also need to have an interest in IT and be able to use a computer to a basic standard.

Assessment

You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of staff who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. You will be assessed by a mixture of assignments, observations and practical assessments.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will have access to increase employment prospects. You will also have the opportunity to further enhance your skills and knowledge by progress on to a Level 2 First Diploma in Information and Creative Technology at Redbridge College.
