Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles Level 3 Diploma at Truro and Penwith College
The pattern of attendance is 4 full days per week. The course is made up of 3 core and 5 specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in depth. The pathways and units are categorised below.

- Engine Maintenance Systems
The course is aimed at those who wish to develop their practical and theoretical skills to enable them to work in the industry. If you are aged 19 or over and are an experienced, employed vehicle technician we will discuss your study options with you during your interview.
Candidates joining the programme require a minimum of 4 GCSEs graded A*-D. The candidate must have successfully completed a Level 2 Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification.
All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. Practical task completion and theoretical on-line exams are also part of the qualification criteria.
You will gain a IMI Level 3 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification after completion.
After successfully completing this course you can progress into employment.
We encourage candidates to refer to notes made during technology classes inside and outside of college hours; in addition we recommend that candidates secure access to a motor vehicle technology textbook to help them with areas of technology that they require extra assistance with. Our tutors will provide candidates with external web links and resources which will help them with their studies.
